Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973)

Pablo Picasso
Created in 1950, this lithograph is part of the “Faces of Peace” series and is Picasso's symbolic response to the tragedies of war. The minimalist single-line drawing creates an image of a face that is both fragile and resilient, endowed with inner dignity and hope.
This work became part of the artist's anti-war mission, also expressed in his famous “Dove of Peace,” and cemented Picasso's status not only as a genius of form, but also as a humanist artist whose art sought universal peace and reconciliation.
